Flemington Hosts Free Market For Second Day Of Yard Sales

"FLEMINGTON -- If you don't sell all your wares during Flemington's town-wide yard on Saturday, you have a choice: You can hope someone will buy your leftovers on Sunday or you can take the items to the Court Street Park on Sunday between 9 and 11 a.m.

Then from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., anyone who wants to can adopt your unwanted items. At the end of the day, any worthwhile remainders will be donated to the Rescue Mission in Trenton.
This free marketplace is sponsored by the borough, but the driving forces behind it are Ilyssa Cohen and Becca Genne-Bacon.

Councilwoman Brooke Liebowitz, who serves on the borough Environmental Commission, presented the plan to council. She hopes that making the free market a part of yard sale weekend will keep unsold goods out of the waste stream, which is good for the environment and good for the borough's budget.

The yard sale hours are 9 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, rain or shine."
